Circle of Lights Memorial Event

As the sun sets on Tuesday, May 25, hundreds of luminaries will line the sidewalks around two fountains in honor of those who have died. This tradition is Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care’s annual Circle of Lights event for the community. Ceremonies are at 8:15 p.m. at the J.C. Nichols Fountain on the Country Club Plaza, 47th Street between Main and Broadway, and the Anita B. Gorman Park Fountain, North Oak Trafficway and Vivion Road. The words and music of a nondenominational ceremony help participants remember and honor those who have touched their lives. Participants light the candles in the luminary bags, which bear the names of people they want to honor. To make a gift for this year's ceremony and request a luminary in memory of your loved at the park of your choice, please call 816-363-2600. Donations help provide care for patients and families with limited financial resources and help provide grief support services, spiritual support, art and music therapy, and other services that may not be reimbursed by insurance.
