Donate Tax-Free From Your IRA if You're 70 1/2 or Older
Congress extended an excellent charitable planning opportunity for 2009. IRA owners age 70 1/2 and older may make a direct transfer from their IRA to their favorite charity. The transfer may be up to $100,000 in one year and bypasses any income or estate taxes.

To take advantage of this opportunity and make a gift transfer to Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care, simply send a letter instructing your financial planner, custodian or plan administrator of your desire. Download a sample letter here.

Gifts from your IRA and other planned gifts help Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care provide important services. They also can offer immediate and deferred tax advantages to you and your heirs.

For more information about making a planned gift, call Mary Zahner Bauer, planned giving/major gift specialist at Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care, 816-276-2625.

Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care is a nonprofit organization that has been enhancing life for the seriously ill since 1980.
