Overview of Grief Support

Each person’s grief is unique. The grief support specialists at Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care are here to support you on your journey of healing. Our staff and programs for the community can help you find ways to cope and provide you support, guidance and hope in the journey through grief.

Individual grief support is available to family members and caregivers of Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care patients, as well as people who have had a family member served by a hospice outside Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care’s service area. A grief support specialist will work one-on-one with you to meet your needs.

Support also is available through programs open to anyone in the community.
  • Grief support groups are free and open to people in the community who have experienced a loss.
  • Camp Carousel is a free, weekend camp for families with school-aged children who are grieving.
  • Memorial events provide an opportunity to come together with others in the community and remember those who have died.
