Memorial Events

Memorial services held in May and December create a supportive, community environment and provide an opportunity to remember someone who has died. 
  • Circle of Lights Memorial Event

            8:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008

            Remember a loved one by lighting a luminary bearing your loved one’s name at 
            this annual memorial event in May. Ceremonies are at the J.C. Nichols Fountain 
            on the Country Club Plaza, 47th Street between Main and Broadway, and the 
            Anita B. Gorman Park Fountain, North Oak Trafficway and Vivion Road. The 
            event includes the words and music of a nondenominational ceremony. For

  • An Advent Service of Hope and Remembrance

             December 2008

  
           This event in December provides a way to remember your loved one during the 
             holiday season and a way to cope with grief during the holidays. This memorial 
             service includes music and candle lighting. Participants receive an ornament to 
             hang on a tree in memory of their loved one.
