Memorial Events

Memorial services held in May, June and December create a supportive, community environment and provide an opportunity to remember someone who has died. 
  • Circle of Lights Memorial Event

            May 21, 2013

Remember a loved one by lighting a luminary bearing your loved one’s name at this annual memorial event in May. Ceremonies are at the J.C. Nichols Fountain on the Country Club Plaza, 47th Street between Main and Broadway, and the Anita B. Gorman Park Fountain, North Oak Trafficway and Vivion Road. The event includes the words and music of a nondenominational ceremony. For more information or to request a luminary, please call 816.363.2600.
  • Walk to Remember
            June 8, 2013

Join us in celebrating special people while walking as little or as much as you wish. Registration is  $25, which includes a t-shirt, food and games. Children 11 and under are free.   • An Advent Service of Hope and Remembrance

             December 5, 2012

  
           This event in December provides a way to remember your loved one during the 
             holiday season and a way to cope with grief during the holidays. This memorial 
             service includes music and candle lighting. Participants receive an ornament to 
             hang on a tree in memory of their loved one.
