Solace House is a grief counseling center specifically designed to guide children, individuals and their families through the pivotal time following the death of a loved one. Age-specific support groups are offered where participants are encouraged to share their stories with the help of a group facilitator.
Grief affects people in different ways and triggers a variety of emotional issues. Solace House is not the answer for situations requiring crisis counseling, psychotherapy, or other general mental health counseling or therapy. Solace House is a beginning point for grieving families who need compassionate direction.
Solace House helps people regain a sense of life balance and equips participants to appropriately honor loss and integrate the grief journey into their overall life experience.

Solace House offers four support groups
that run consecutively. Children's groups are divided by developmental age:
3 & 4, 5-8, 9-12 and teens 13-18. Adult groups are based upon relationship loss
or special circumstance: child loss, spouse loss, suicide loss, and mixed adult
(parent/sibling/friend/ex-spouse/grandparent). The start dates stagger. Each
group is every other week for a total of eight sessions. Groups are offered on
either Tuesday or Wednesday evenings. Solace House support groups are closed
groups. This means that participants must attend an orientation session,
complete paperwork and have been accepted into the Solace House programs in
order to participate in these groups. Additionally, knowing the start date will
not guarantee space in a particular group.
