For anyone in the community dealing with long-term illness and pain, grief and loss, planning and making decisions for care for a senior or for someone facing medical issues, caregiver stress, and other difficult life transitions, the Passages counseling program can provide help.
Passages offers support from licensed clinical social workers experienced in helping people work through medical and emotional challenges. One-on-one or family counseling is available.
Therapy is focused on your goals, and is often short term. Frequently the issues are addressed in just a few visits, although counseling may extend over more visits if needed.
Passages can address many situations, including:
- Providing information about various senior living options, such as assisted living and nursing facilities
- Concerns about how to help an aging parent or spouse with health issues
- Struggles associated with chronic illness and pain
- Prolonged grief following the loss of a loved one
- Loneliness in retirement
- Facilitating difficult family discussions
- Thinking through options for medical treatment
Passages social workers protect client privacy according to state and federal laws and the Code of Ethics of the National Association of Social Workers.
