KC Hospice House

Unique volunteer opportunities are available at Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Mo. The inpatient facility, which opened in April 2006, provides a homelike environment and expert care for seriously ill people who are unable to stay at home.

Volunteer opportunities include:
  • Delivering meals to patients.
  • Arranging flowers.
  • Preparing welcome baskets for new patients and families.
  • Staffing the hospitality desk to answer guests’ questions and assist them.
  • Sorting items for recycling.
  • Special projects.  
You also may arrange for your group to go to Kansas City Hospice House to cook a meal for family members staying at the facility or bake cookies that can be served to guests.

In addition, you may volunteer to create special hearts to hang on patients' doors who have passed.
